This is the quickest way to start tracking pdfs and other documents in Google Analytics.
- Add a parameter to the link.
For example:
<a href=”http://www.yourdomain.com/downloads/product-catalog.pdf?pdf=Product-Catalog” target=”_blank”>Product Catalog</a>The custom parameter “?pdf=Product-Catalog” is a label for us to tell which pdf data we’re viewing later.
- In Google Analytics, go to Behavior > Site Content > All Pages
Search for pdf to view document analytics.
