Last night at the 2017 Mountain-Plains Museum Association (MPMA) Conference and banquet in Denver, they announced two 1st place awards to Bone Creek Museum of Agrarian Art — one in the Print category for the 150 for Nebraska’s 150th invitation and one for Online Presence, also with the 150 for Nebraska’s 150th Exhibition, featuring 150 Artists, 150 Artworks, 150 Years of Nebraska in Miniature.
This year, the museum invested in the addition of an online gallery to display all 150 artist submissions. Artworks could be viewed on mobile devices and at large for those unable to visit the exhibition, purchased online through PayPal or at the museum, and marked as sold on the website. A 5-star rating system allowed users to vote for their favorite artworks in a chance for that piece to be nominated for the Public Choice Award. The online gallery was a major success for the museum and artists alike. Anna Nolan-Covault said the judges have been singing praises for two days about how great the print and online gallery are and the quality of work across multiple platforms.
Truly honored for the museum in these recognitions for all of the work they do on a daily basis and the upcoming milestone of their 10th Anniversary. I am grateful to be a part of their legacy and growing success as a museum.
