About a 1 minute read

"There is one thing one has to have: either a soul that is cheerful by nature, or a soul made cheerful by work, love, art, and knowledge."

Friedrich Nietzsche

The Dark Fairy is a ballet written and composed by Fred Weems, Music for Warthogs. Fred reached out to Ashley in 2011 to create an elaborate website that could be privately accessed via a login. The ballet is divided into 3 parts/seasons and is composed of 16 pieces of music. The website was a central hub of resources for a team of producers, directors, choreographers, dancers, and costume and stage artists to access—the script, sheet music, concepts, storyboards, and a forum—to understand Fred’s vision. Ashley creatively illustrated each season, Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter with interactivity (falling leaves for Autumn and snow falling for Winter). A banner section served as a visual area for digital illustrations of each scene and a music timeline.
