About a 1 minute read

"The art of living… is neither careless drifting on the one hand nor fearful clinging to the past on the other. It consists in being sensitive to each moment, in regarding it as utterly new and unique, in having the mind open and wholly receptive."

Village of Elm Creek, Nebraska

History

The Village of Elm Creek came into existence in August of 1866, when the Union Pacific Railroad came through Buffalo County. The village was incorporated in 1887. The last weekend in August Elm Creek celebrates Buffalo Stampede Days. This brings in thousands of people to partake in the weekend’s events.

Design Inspiration

The rich history of this village inspired the vintage illustrations and graphics, background textures, natural colors and elements, and provided an opportunity to play with typography. The village needed a brand mark, from which I carried the fonts throughout the website. The combination of vintage and contemporary sans-serif fonts makes for an unsuspecting and unique viewing experience for visitors. This isn’t a cookie-cutter city website.
